The Heritage Craft Center is a non-profit 501 C (3) organization that is dedicated to preserving and promoting heritage crafts. One of the goals of the HCCEP is the establishment of the learning and marketing center that improves the economic and artistic potential of craftspeople, especially West Virginia’s.
The Heritage Craft Center of the Eastern Panhandle, Inc. (HCCEP) opened its retail shop in October 1999. In order to market your craft in the shop, the HCCEP’s jurying committee must jury it and, if accepted, the artisan must become a member of the HCCEP at the Artisan membership level. Craftsmen’s Guilds or associations wishing to join should call the office or email for more information. All work is sold on a consignment basis, with 70% of the retail price to be paid to the artist. Artisans should submit 3-5 representative pieces, or up to 10 slides/photographs, or a combination of artwork and slides/photographs of each craft medium they submit for jury (i.e. woodcarvings, leather, or pottery.) Artisans whose slides/photographs or work is mailed must include a SASE or appropriate packaging and postage for return of their property. Please include a resume or vitae with your work, and identify each slide/photograph with medium, size, materials, and your name and address.
